Error code 0x00170019 during verification (copy & verify)
Hello support,

I encountered the following (reproducible) error during the operation of my brand new NPS-10.

Following my set-up:

NPS-10 Firmware 1.11
SSD: Samsung Evo 1TB Model MZ-76E1T0
Card: Sony CF-Express 128GB
Camera used for writing on the card: Canon R5, Firmware V1.1.1

I did four tests:

Test 1 (error on verification):
Recorded on card: 2 files in 8K RAW
File 1: 73.344.636.404 Bytes / 68,3GB
File 2: 53.557.719.392 Bytes / 49,8GB
and there is a 1KB .MTG-file in a subfolder

Test 2 (verification successful)
Recorded on card: 35 photos
Size: Slightly varying, average is 18,3MB
and there is a 1KB .MTG-file in a subfolder

Test 3 (error on verification):
Recorded on card: 2 files in 8K RAW
File 1: 14.791.945.504 Bytes / 13,7GB
File 2: 9.900.550.644 Bytes / 9,21GB
and there is a 1KB .MTG-file in a subfolder

Test 4 (verification successful):
Recorded on card: 3 files in 8K RAW
File 1: 1.135.262.612 Bytes / 1,05GB
File 2: 1.774.381.464 Bytes / 1,65GB
File 3: 2.100.542.124 Bytes / 1,95GB
and there is a 1KB .MTG-file in a subfolder

Following steps were taken which always lead to error code 0x00170019 during verification:

1) Turn on the NPS-10
2) Format SSD to have a clean base to work on
3) Insert card and start Copy & Verify

Copying succeeds and verification fails with error code 0x00170019. If I'm right i fails when verification of file 1 seems to have ended and the next file would be verified. After the auto-power-off and turning the unit on it reads error code 0x00020000.

I have read the other thread regarding error code 0x00170019 postet on 2019-10-15 by Chris but I do have the feeling that something else might be happening here. Maybe an issue with large files during verification?

If you need my logs give me a heads up, I copied them after each test-cycle and have them ready.

I hope this is an issue that can be fixed fast!

Best regards,
Christian

Hello support,

I re-read my text and want to correct / add to what I wrote:

>> Following steps were taken which always lead to error code 0x00170019 during verification:
>> 1) Turn on the NPS-10
>> 2) Format SSD to have a clean base to work on
>> 3) Insert card and start Copy & Verify

As you can see in the test above that: It did not always fail the verification. It did fail on tests with filesizes 13,7GB or larger.
I want to add that I did not always reformatted the SSD as I wrote. I kept going on in my tests without reformatting the drive.

Best regards,
Christian

We did copy & verify for
1. One 15.5GB file
2. 4136 Image file
3. Total 55.4GB
and found no problem.
The error code '0x00170019' is data compare error.
Can you try compare data between at the computer using such as this?
https://www.cjmweb.net/vbindiff/
And inform us which is actually different.
We doubt if that is because of hidden meta data file.

Also check if your firmware version is 1.10 or later.

Hello,

The firmware version of my device is 1.11.

I used the tool you mentioned - please be aware that it has a known bug of not working properly with files over 4 gigabytes (mentioned in the "VBinDiff.txt").

I wasn't able to locate a difference in the files located in the TMP-folder on the SSD compared to the files located on the CFexpress-card with VBinDiff.

To be sure I ran CRC-32-checksums separately on each of the files - identical in all three cases.

Best regards,
Christian
