I am using for years now the ND 2901 (V. 1.51).
Now I am planning to change the internal drive to a 2tb SSD (Scandisk Ultra 3D SSD). I know I will need an external battery or external powerpack. Since I do have always powerpacks with me, I do need the dimensions and output of the battery connector (plug).
Do I need the battery connection or is it possible to charge via USB?

If you going to use USB Power pack, there are three options.
1. Connect USB power pack to DC-In port of ND2901 through DC jack adapter. The size(diameter) of DC jack should be 3.5(outer) x 1.35mm.
2. Connect USB power pack to Batt port of ND2901 through DC jack adapter. The size(diameter) of DC jack should be 2.5(outer) x 0.7mm.
3. Connect USB power pack to USB device(computer I/F) port of ND2901. You can select 'Use USB power'.
In case of 1 & 2, be careful about the power polarity.
Inner side is (+) and outer side is GND.
