But Q&A number [26], [27] reports it\'s not working at 10.4.10.

So we have following questions.
MAC users, pls help us solving the problem.
1) At what MAC is the problem happens?
All MAC with OS10.4.10 have problem, or just MAC Book Pro with

If tehre are user with MAC OS10.4.10 which work with ND2300,
pls let us know.
2) I can see MAC book pro with MAC OS 10.4.10 have problem with
ND2300. Then what about other version OS?
3) What do you see at USB tag of SystemProfiler?
Can you see USB storage device?
4) Can you see USB storage device at DiskUtility?
5) If you have problem using ND2300 at MAC book Pro, then what

Hello here's my experiences.

i've got a Nexto-OTG ND2300 and a  Imac 20' C2D intel with OSX 10.4.10.

The only way to make the ND2300 visible by my mac is to use usb 1.0 port (the one on the keyboard) and use the power adaptor with the Nexto.
Very slow transfer rate... better than nothing at least for now.

1-  The problem with usb 2.0 and osx 10.4.10, as far as i know, is with intel mac only.
The system log show :
'kernel[0]: USBF: 2332.340
AppleUSBEHCI[90x3df7000]::Found a transaction past the completion deadline on bus 253, timing out!

2-  I've used without problems the Nexto-OTG ND2300 with OSX 10.4.8 and 10.4.9 with usb 2.0 port. Fast and reliable. no problem with Imac 20' C2D Intel.

3- The sytem profiler show the usb 2.0 storage device.
USB 2.0 Storage Device:

Versione: 1.06
Potenza bus (mA): 500
Velocità: Fino a 480 Mb/sec
ID prodotto: 0x5637
Numero di serie: 12345000100000000001
ID fornitore: 0x0402

4- The diskutility can't see the device. The finder can't see the device.

5- I don't have another usb 2.0 external hd.

I have a NEXTO OTG ND2300 with Xpress sticker on it. It boots with FW OTG Express v1.03. The MacBook has 2 USB 2.0 ports, both don't work with the NEXTO.

1) MacBook (not Pro) 2.0GHz Intel C2D white casing
2) I haven't tried it on older OS X versions, I don't have that
3) the system profiler shows the USB 2.0 storage device:

USB 2.0 Storage Device:

Versie: 1.06
Busvoeding (mA): 500
Snelheid: Maximaal 480 Mb/sec
Productcode: 0x5637
Serienummer: 12345000100000000001
Fabrikantcode: 0x0402

4) the disk utility can't see the USB device, also not visible in the finder
5) I don't have another external HDD

Interesting to know, it has worked the first time I was also able to copy files from the nexto.

Then the software update utility of OS X wanted to install the latest security update. (apple -> software-update) and after that it doesn't work anymore.

these patches were installed:
2007-06-25 02:18:37 +0200: Installed "Security Update 2007-006 (Universal)" (1.0)
2007-06-25 02:24:04 +0200: Installed "Mac OS X-update (Intel)" (10.4.10

Maybe this is a coincidence or maybe it is caused by these updates?

We found the reason and found one way to solve it at.
With that firmware, ND2300 can connect to 10.4.10 with CoreDuo but have problem with OS 9.
So pls wait some more. We'll post the firmware update.

It is great that you guys are solving the problem, but I actually think that this is the mistake of Apple? They did a security patch and after that I can't use the NEXTO anymore.

It seems that other vendors external USB HDD are having problems after the security update as well, read here on the Apple forum:

I'm a photographer and am shooting an expedition to climb Mt. Blanc for Natl. Geographic starting July 25 - I was considering getting more CF cards, but figured "I have my trusty Nexto with 80gb of storage, so I sdon't need more CF cards" WRONG!! I got the ND 2500 to show up in Disk Utility (I'm using Mac OS X 10.4.10 on a MacBook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo) and I did a "verify disk" and then attempted to repair - I get FIRST AID FAILED - Disk Utility stopped repairing "NEXTO" because the following error was encountered: THe underlying tak reported failure on exit, I also get (in teh main window) **/dev/disk2s1 **Phase 1 - Read FAT Unable to read FAT (input/output error) ERROR: The underlying task reported failure on exit.

This is really disturbing becaus enow I have what is essentially a $360 paperweight. I need my equipment to work ALWAYS! COme on guys/ladies!!

I used the MAC Updater for the ND2500...I was able to upload a new firmware version onto the ND2500 using the Oxford Uploader. The ND2500 still does not mount or appear in the finder. The firmware I upgraded to is 1.37b (I also tried v 1.38b). Is this the correct firmware for the ND2500? It is listed in your downloads section as the most recent firmware for the ND2500, but it doesn't seem to work any better than the previous version which was on the ND2500- version 1.30. Please make sure that you list and make available for download the proper firmware for the ND2500 that WILL DEFINITELY work with Mac OS X 10.4.10 soon!
