it can be the memorycard that is used for long time.
( having old bad datas )

you can download 'card wiper' and format the memorycard.

No - unfortunately not that simple. These are all new - have tried 5 now with all the same reults - all with different footage. They all have been tested and work fine when copying directly onto a dell laptop via its standard pcexpress port.

Any other thoughts? Possibly the otg cable has issues, but I can't actually buy one anywhere here - have tried.

Please not this is a brand new 2725 that has never worked out of the box.

Check the hard drive inside ND2725.
If you using SAMSUNG hard drive, that can happen.
And the 0x000E error means low level communication error.
So you may try to use other usb cable.

Another USB cable is a valid point, but they are not available in Qld Australia anywhere (that is a mini usb to mini or a OTG adapter like supplied) ... happy to try one if I can access one...

The drive was the 320 that was shipped in the box.

I managed to get my hands on a female to female adaptor, and effectively replaced the OTG connector and the usb cable, but it does not even identify this - nothing happens at all as if nothing is plugged in...basically we are up #@$@$ creek without a paddle! I will have to buy a compact laptop in the morning and send this back to the reseller. Its a shame really - it looks good in principle.

This problem was caused by SAMSUNG HDD. As we stated on the quick start guide, don't use samsung hard drive for ND2725.
Also the compatibility issue with external hard drive case was caused by file format used.
Nexto does not support NTFS formatted external hard drive.
SO Format the hard drive in FAT32 format.
Unfortunatly windows does not format hard drive in FAT32 if the ize of hard drive is bigger than 32GB. So you need to use special SW(like partitionMagic) to format the hard drive in FAT32.
Nexto has [format] function which formats internal hard drive to FAT32.

Yes the USb error from the ex1 communication appears to be caused by a samsung hardrive that was installed by the australian distributer and sold as a complete item. I was not aware that they did not normally come with a drive and would have checked if I had not bought it in a SEALED BOX.

Regardless that fixes that problem the camera no longer has a USB error.

Whilst i do appreciate ytour efforst to date, the major problems with no hard drives remain with all of them having usb errors. You suggestion to dismantle other manufacturers harddrives and void warranties in order to force a Fat 32 format in third party non supplied software - and in a non supported windows format scenario - which issues problems on large files above 4gig seems to be an odd scenario. I cant see how this can be professionally advertised as a HD video back up device if such a size limitation exists.

Additionally I can't even see how to open a lacie rugged case...

I will do testing when we return from the field and post the results so that others don't need to headbutt with this stuff.

Unfortunately - fat32 external drives still present the asme errors - any further thought we can try R&D? I have negotiated another OTG cable from reseller to try in caes its that simple.
